Rogelio Colli

MAYAN ARTIST

 

 

Rogelio Colli was born in Ciudad de Calkini, Campeche, Mexico in 1975.  He teaches art at the Universidad Autonoma del Carmen, Sabancuy campus, in a small town near the ocean where he lives with his family.

 

He was born into a family of Mayan artisans and grew up in an environment full of color and life.  He is also a very talented muralist, having painted several large projects with his University.  He has a great interest in promoting and preserving the art of his Mayan ancestry, which he incorporates in his distinct techniques and themes.

 

He has participated in expositions and artisanal fairs.
